Farmers Insurance Group is an American branch of a Swiss company which provides the following types of insurance:
Farmers operates in 41 different states, acting as the 3rd largest insurance company in the country with more than 10 million customers. Their headquarters are located in Los Angeles, CA.
Currently, the company is happy to offer its current and potential customers several different forms of insurance coverage, as well as financial services too. Some of these include life insurance, restaurant insurance, auto insurance, or even mutual funds.
Though the company was purchased by a foreign company in 1998, it has always been business as usual at Farmers. The biggest change which happened as a result of the acquisition was a tiny logo applied to the company’s website. Those who were familiar with the provider before Zurich purchased them can still look forward to the same great service from Farmers today.
The company is often compared to one of its biggest competitors, State Farm Insurance. And it’s no surprise why; both companies have a well-known reputation in the auto insurance industry. Because each driver’s situation is unique, your best option is to contact each agency, evaluate each quote they give you, consider which company offers the best discounts for you, and base your decision on which carrier can provide you with the best deal.
Currently, A.M. Best’s most recent evaluation of Farmers car insurance company has awarded them a financial stability rating of “B+” grade, otherwise considered “stable”. While this isn’t the highest rating available, it is far from undesirable.
Another ratings agency, JD Power and Associates, has awarded Farmer’s three stars (out of a possible five) for both ease of contact and overall customer satisfaction. However, their ratings on pricing, billing, and policy offerings did not fare so well. Out of a possible two stars in each category, Farmers only received as high as two stars.
