The Cadillac Escalade hybrid is an environmentally friendly variation on the very popular Cadillac Escalade. Depending on where you live, your regular Cadillac Escalade insurance could be affordable, or not so cheap. But hybrids are a different story. There are many factors which can easily raise the insurance rates on any type of hybrid vehicle, especially an Escalade. But there are also many ways in which you could cut your insurance rates by 42% or more. And you can do it today.

A Brief History of the Cadillac Escalade Hybrid

In 2008, Cadillac decided to jump onto the environmentally friendly gravy train by debuting their own version of a lower emissions vehicle, the Escalade hybrid. During its first year of sales, the company reported that 1 in 5 Escalades purchased were hybrids, accounting for 20% of total sales. Although it’s rollover safety ratings only received 3 out of 5 stars, it got an overall safety rating of 4 out of 5 stars from the NHTSA. For better or worse, hybrid Escalades were discontinued in 2013.

Cadillac Escalade Hybrid in the News

Cadillac made quite the effort in order to make sure consumers knew that the Escalade hybrid was available. For instance, Eli Manning received a free Escalade hybrid as a prize for winning the coveted Super Bowl MVP award back in 2008. While this may have helped boost sales in the beginning, it didn’t stop the Escalade hybrid from eventually being phased out 5 years later.

Comparing Cadillac Escalade Hybrid Auto Insurance

The funny thing about hybrids is that some states in the US will give tax incentives to drivers who purchase one. There may also be tax incentives available to insurance companies who are willing to sell you an affordable policy despite their risk assessment. Not that there’s anything wrong with hybrids, mind you – but most of the time, insurance companies charge more because of the complicated engine and expensive replacement parts. As you can see in the chart below, this is one of the reasons why prices will vary so much from one location to another.

It’s up to each and every individual insurance company to decide how much they want to charge for insurance on an expensive, luxury hybrid vehicle. All of these factors usually mean that your monthly premiums will be on the higher side. However, companies are always looking to drum up new business, and an intrepid insurance agency may want to fill the demand the gap by offering lower rates to Escalade hybrid drivers who are sick of paying too much for their auto insurance premiums.

In case you wanted specifics about how big the price gap is between hybrid vehicles and their gasoline-powered sister models, we have evidence for you right here. You can see in the chart below that there are noticeable differences between what you will get quoted for a regular Escalade versus an Escalade hybrid. Some of them may only be as small as $20 to $30 a month, but over time that can add up to hundreds (if not thousands) of dollars in extra expenses. This is an even more important reason why you need to shop around and find a hybrid-friendly auto insurance agency.

Hybrid vs. Gas-Powered Auto Insurance Quotes Legend: Escalade Quotes Escalade Hybrid Quotes Esurance National Grange Mutual Encompass Allstate State Farm 25 50 75 100 125 150 175 200 225 250 275 300 325 $143 $129 $173 $155 $343 $286 $276 $258 $189 $149

As you can see, there are many different challenges to conquer if you’re trying to ensure an Escalade hybrid on the cheap. It’s expensive, which means your insurance company wants to charge more. It’s a luxury vehicle, which may up your premiums even further. And since a lot of insurance providers are scared of new technology, that can scare them into charging you a higher rate. You’ll have to go on the hunt for an insurance company that will give you a fair premium. And if you use our quote generator right now, you can find the best price for your Cadillac Escalade hybrid car insurance in as little as 5 minutes.
