The Cadillac XTS is one of the more affordable luxury sedans in the whole Cadillac Fleet. It is priced a little higher than other XT models, yet some people think the luxury and the performance of this sedan is worth the mark-up. But is it worth the markup on your monthly insurance premiums? Well, we are here to help you answer that question. With the right tools and techniques, you can avoid paying a hefty sum each month on your Cadillac XTS auto insurance premiums.
A Brief History of the Cadillac XTS
The Cadillac XTS came on the scene in 2013, and is still in production today. It is an X Series Touring sedan with an Epsilon II platform. It was designed to replace the STS and DTS models, which were retired years ago. It was also designed to compete with the Chevrolet Impala and the Buick LaCrosse, and it’s V-sport engine is clocked at accelerating from 0 to 60 in just under 7 Seconds. Interior options range from the base “Luxury” models all the way up to the “V-Sport Platinum” package. The base price for this luxury sedan starts out at just under $47,000.

Cadillac XTS in the News
In its first year of sales, the Cadillac XTS impressed car manufacturers everywhere by exceeding 32,000 units. 2014 models did not sell quite as well, but still made an impact on the market with over 24,000 units sold. The 2017 car buying season rounded out with the Cadillac XTS models selling about half of what they did in their debut year – only a little more than 16,000 units. Usually, when sales start to drop off like that, it’s not long before a model gets sent to greener pastures so that manufacturers can boost sales once again by innovating the old models and coming out with something new. So be on the lookout for a shiny, fancy successor to the Cadillac XTS in the coming years.
Comparing Cadillac XTS Auto Insurance
Do you know whether or not you are state is one of the most expensive states in the country for auto insurance? What about the city you live in? Do you know whether or not your ZIP code is particularly safe compared to other nearby areas? Even if you don’t have an answer to any of these questions, we guarantee you that your insurance company does. They use those answers to figure out whether or not you are likely to file an expensive claim – and adjust your monthly insurance rate accordingly.
Many car owners make the mistake of purchasing a policy from the first company that offers them a quote – whether or not they know if they’re getting a fair price. Some people think that just because a family member or a co-worker recommends a specific insurance company to them that it must be the best deal in town. But your coworker and your family member and even your neighbor down the street have very different personal circumstances than you, and it can have a massive effect on their insurance rates compared to yours. The only real way to make sure you’re getting the best price is to compare quotes from many different companies. Just look at the chart below and a see how much of a difference I can make.
It’s not uncommon for parents to turn their current vehicle into a hand-me-down first car for their kid when he/she starts to need their own form of transportation – even if it’s a relatively expensive one, like the cadillac XTS. You should know, however, that insurance rates for younger drivers will be much higher than they will for an adult like you. And the fact that a luxury vehicle with a hefty price tag is being driven by someone who does not yet have very much driving experience doesn’t help matters. Depending on where you live, there may be some insurance providers who charge you an arm and a leg when you purchase a policy for your young driver. Others may only charge you an arm, saving you hundreds of dollars (and body parts!) Per year. But you’ll never know for sure unless you compare rates, as you can see from the chart below.
Finding a good car insurance rate for a relatively affordable luxury sedan shouldn’t be so difficult. And it doesn’t have to be, if you let insurance experts like us help you find the best rates in your town. In as little as 5 minutes, we can help you find a handful of quotes or more for your Cadillac XTS car insurance. You could start saving up to 29% by tomorrow morning!
