A Brief History of the Chevrolet Silverado
This iconic truck began production in 1998 and made its first appearance in American car dealerships for the 1999 season. Over the past 20 years, it has changed in both looks and performance and is now currently in its fourth generation of production.
Consumers can purchase their Silverado of choice in a light-duty, medium-duty, heavy-duty, and hybrid version. Chevrolet Silverado in the News
2019 Chevy Silverado models are coming with an unexpected change to their chassis – upgrades based on, of all things, design lessons learned from the Z28 Camaro.
It’s what’s known as the “flowtie”, which is both a clever play on words and an aesthetic design change to the iconic silver and gold Chevy bowtie that decorates all of their vehicles.
But the change isn’t just for looks. As a matter of fact, the empty space where the gold center would usually allow more air to flow through the engine block, improving overall engine performance.
Hopefully, though, this will not inspire Silverado and Camaro owners to start drag racing each other anytime soon!
Comparing Chevrolet Silverado Auto Insurance Coverage
How much is insurance for a Chevy Silverado? Maybe you bought a Chevy Silverado so that you can handle the rough terrain in the scenic, sparsely populated country where you live.
Or maybe you’re riding high and proud in your Silverado on the paved roads of a big city, but displaying your rural pride through your vehicle.
Either way, the location you park your car at night will have as much influence on how much you pay each month for premiums – if not more – then what you’re driving in the first place.
And when you know what average prices are for your area, it’ll be easier to make sure you’re getting charged an appropriate amount for your coverage.

Some insurance companies may be apprehensive about covering a truck as opposed to an SUV, a sedan, or hatchback. It’s not uncommon for truck drivers to take their vehicles places normal vehicles can’t go.
But, of course, there’s the risk that taking your truck off road could result in damages that may require you to file a claim.
Other insurance companies may not care and even give you a discount based on the vehicle’s sturdy construction (since it will probably cost less to fix or replace in the event of a serious accident).
As useful as trucks are, not everybody purchases a large, dominating pickup because they have heavy things to haul or off-road areas to traverse.
Sometimes, motorists choose to purchase trucks that make them feel large, in charge, and dominant on the road. More often than not, though, this sense of confidence can transform into aggressive driving, leading to traffic citations or worse – an accident that gets deemed your fault.
Just getting a single ticket for bad driving can raise your monthly premiums. And if your aggressive driving habits lead to an accident, you’ll see even higher price spikes than you will in the chart below.
Even if you’re a safe driver, you drive fewer miles each year than the average motorist, you live in a safe, sparsely populated area, and/or you pay your premiums on time every month, you may be still paying more than you should be for your Chevy Silverado auto insurance policy.
But you don’t have to be! You can use our helpful quote generator to compare rates between half a dozen different providers or more in your area. Let us help you find a wallet-friendly price for your coverage today.
