Do you have a large family to take care of, whom you wish to keep safe when you’re traveling from point A to point B? Then we can certainly understand why you own a Dodge Caravan, and why you want to find more affordable coverage for it. Typically, families – especially those who are concerned with safety as much as they are an affordable, high-quality vehicle – find an easier time getting lower rates on their Dodge Caravan auto insurance. But sometimes, this isn’t always the case. If you feel like one of these outliers who isn’t paying a fair price for their coverage, you can use our resources in order to discover whether or not this is the case for you.
A Brief History of the Dodge Caravan
The Dodge Caravan (and its younger brother, the Dodge Grand Caravan) is a minivan which, in one iteration or another, has been produced by Chrysler since 1984. Currently, the vehicle is in its fifth generation of production. For the most recent generation, which debuted in model year 2008, Dodge abandoned the short wheelbase of the previous four generations in favor of a longer one (hence the addition of “Grand” to the nameplate). The short wheel base design was promptly recycled into the Dodge Journey model, a crossover SUV which debuted the year after the 5th generation Grand Caravans started selling. These new models also came with electronic stability control, Swivel’n Go seating technology, second and third row video screens for updated trims, and side curtain airbags. Dodge Caravan in the News
The Dodge Caravan has earned some fantastically high safety rating scores, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration In the US. It’s scored a resounding 5 out of 5 stars for frontal impact, side-impact, and side rear impact passenger scenarios. The only minor weakness was in rollover testing, in which it’s still scored an impressive four out of five stars. The IIHS concurred with most of these results, especially in the areas of moderate overlap frontal offset, side-impact, and roof strength. It should be noted, however, that the vast majority of these safety ratings apply to 2010 models and younger.
Comparing Dodge Caravan Auto Insurance
Did you know that one important factor which matters as much (or more) than what you drive is where you drive it? You may only be driving between home and school, home and work, or home and after school activities – or any combination thereof – but the conditions under which you drive make a difference to your insurance provider. Safe neighborhoods with high property values can make a big difference when it comes to helping you find a more affordable rate. On the flip side of that coin, things like auto theft, traffic congestion, and even events that happen on the road when you’re not driving – such as a higher rate of DUIs in your area, for example – can raise your premium substantially.
If you are currently getting a policy from an auto insurance provider who prioritizes safety above all else, then there’s a very real chance you’re already getting a highly affordable premium on your Dodge Caravan car insurance. If, however, your auto insurance company focuses on other variables, there’s a chance you could save money by switching. Certain providers offer nominally lower rates then the competition if their customers have poor credit or a blemished driving record and can’t get more affordable insurance anywhere else. Other companies may care more about seemingly unrelated factors, like your home ownership status or your credit history, in order to decide your premiums. But if you put time and energy into searching for a provider whose needs closely correspond with your own, it’ll help you find the affordable monthly rate that you want.
One smart strategy which drivers like you can use to save money on your premiums is to hunt for all the discounts you are eligible for. Sure, there are some nearly universal discounts provided by almost any company (like a safe driver discount, or a low-mileage discount, for example). But there are also discounts for things like your job, your insurance premium payment method, and whether or not you decide to go paperless. It’s a good idea to act like a pro detective and grill your insurance agent for information on all the discounts your provider offers. You may be missing out on savings right now that you didn’t know you deserved.
Finally, one of the quickest, easiest, and most effective ways to guarantee you’re getting the best possible price is to compare quotes from other companies. Most people, however, think that this process is painfully tedious and can, in certain situations, force them to offer up a lot of their personal information to complete strangers. But you don’t have to worry about any of these problems if you shop with us right now for lower rates near you. Our handy quote widget can get you half a dozen free, accurate quotes o6r more within a few minutes – and all you need to provide us with is your zip code.
