A Brief History of the Dodge Viper
The Dodge Viper is one of the fastest sports cars in American history which also comes with an MSRP under six figures.
Production originally started back in 1991, and only briefly halted between 2010 and 2013 due to the financial troubles of the parent company.
But the Viper came back with a bang for the model year 2013 with an extra fancy version known as the SRT Viper. The SRT Vipers halted production in 2015 when the Viper was given yet another facelift that made it distinctly different from the previous two model years.
Despite its floundering struggle between 2010 and 2015, Chrysler announced that same year that the final models of the Dodge Viper would roll off the assembly line in 2017.

Dodge Viper in the News
The Auto industry is abuzz right now with theories about whether or not the Dodge Viper will return within the next few years. if it does, though, the 6th generation will be dramatically different from what Dodge was selling previously.
Some claim that it will only be available in convertible form and that the engine will receive a downgrade. Apparently, Dodge is thinking about switching out the V10, 645 horsepower engine for a V8 Hemi which is only capable of 555 horsepower.
While this may disappoint some die-hard Viper fans, the vehicle may still be fast and powerful enough to attract new buyers; especially if these changes make the vehicle a bit more affordable.
Comparing Dodge Viper Auto Insurance
In general, unfortunately, sports cars are going to be more expensive to insure than a regular sedan, truck, or SUV.
This is especially true if you live in an area with lots of traffic, winding roads, frequent bouts of severe weather, or if driving violations are common in your area.
Basically, the riskier it is for you to be on the road, the more likely your insurance provider will raise rates on you so that they don’t go broke when you file a claim.
But not all insurance companies will raise your rates by the same amount if you happen to live in an area with dangerous roads.
On the flip side of that, not all insurance companies will give you the same lucrative discounts – no matter how many hoops you jump through – either. It’s up to each insurance company’s discretion whether or not they want to offer you a price you can afford.
And since each company also evaluates risk in their own, unique way, it can be difficult to know which provider will give you the best deal unless you shop around.

Last time we checked, the Dodge Viper was a renowned sports car. And what do all sports cars have in common? They’re super fast! And they are fun to drive as a result.
The speedometer May top out at nearly 200 miles an hour, but honestly: where is it legal to drive that fast in the US? We’re betting that the answer to that question is “nowhere”.
No matter where you are, and no matter what the reason, if you go over the speed limit, you risk getting busted and getting ticketed for the offense.
Speeding is another warning sign that you may be a risky driver, which will also trigger economic insecurity from your insurance provider.
As you can see in the chart below, they are much more likely to increase your monthly premium in order to alleviate this anxiety of theirs.
If you feel like you’re being charged an unfair rate by your current Dodge Viper car insurance provider, you don’t have to put up with it.
As a matter of fact, you should shop around to different companies and see if one is willing to offer you a better rate in exchange for your business. Odds are you’ll be able to find at least one provider who can do that for you. And we can help you find them.
