The Murano is a midsize crossover in Nissan’s lineup. Starting at just under $30,000, the Murano makes a good crossover that will fit your needs.

However, bear in mind that there are associated costs with owning a car. The Murano gets 18/24 MPG, which is less than stellar. Other associated costs include Nissan Murano insurance. If you’d like to learn how to save on your car insurance, read on.

Nissan Murano Insurance: Associated Costs

There are many factors that go into quoting you an insurance premium. Bear in mind that it’s a matter of risk management to your insurer. The higher the risk you pose, the higher your premiums are likely to be.
This is why things like having a clean driving history or a good credit score can help or harm you. Generally people with good credit histories and clean driving records will see lower rates because these things are measures of responsibility.

Even if you don’t have those things, there are still waves that you can save. The biggest one would be shopping around. Discounts, rates, and incentives will vary from insurer to insurer. So, by getting quotes from multiple insurers, you’re essentially guaranteeing yourself that you’ll get the best rates. As a rule of thumb, you’ll want to get at least 3 quotes from different insurers so that you can compare and contrast.

Nissan Murano: Ratings & Reviews

With a comfortable and upscale interior and stylish exterior, the Murano impresses. The only real worries about the car are its inadequate rearview visibility and average fuel economy. Beyond that, the car has a powerful 3.5 liter V6 engine that really goes.

This crossover is offered in 4 trims: the S, SV, SL, and LE. The base mode, the S, comes standard with automatic climate control and a six-cd changer stereo, though most of the bells and whistles are on higher trim levels. The SV features a sunroof and rearview camera, while the SL tacks on leather seating.

Nissan Murano: Safety Features

Safety features and good safety ratings can also lower your car insurance premium. This is why it’s important to note that the Murano has performed well in NHTSA and IIHS crash tests. The NHTSA gave the 2012 Murano 4/5 stars on frontal and rollover crash tests, as well as a 5/5 stars rating on side tests. Overall, it received a 4/5. While the IIHS gave the Murano its second-lowest score, “Marginal”, on roof tests, it got the top score of “Good” on front, rear, and side impact crash tests.

In addition to these ratings, it comes standard with some impressive safety equipment like: front, roof, door, seat and side-curtain airbags. A rearview camera comes standard on all trim levels as well, except for the base, S, trim level.
