Hyundai Sonata Insurance: Associated Costs

There are many factors that go into quoting you an insurance premium. At the forefront of these factors is usually your driving history. Keep in mind that insuring you is a matter of risk management to your insurer; the less risky you’re considered, the less your premium will be. If you have a pristine driving record, you’ll see lower rates and vice versa.

There are several other factors that are important as well. For example, you could limit the miles you drive on an annual basis. If you have two cars, consider using one of them for your daily commutes, and the other on occasion.

One surefire way to lower your insurance, however, is to shop around for quotes. Insurers will vary on the levels of discounts and incentives they’re willing to offer. By doing your research, you’ll essentially ensure that you get the best rate.

Hyundai Sonata: Reviews and Ratings

More stylish and sophisticated than its predecessors, the Sonata has come a long way. The 2011 and 2012 Sonatas underwent serious redesigning to make its exterior and interior attractive. It comes standard with a 2.4 liter 4 cylinder engine, and an optional 2.0 liter 4 cylinder turbocharged engine.

The standard engine should be enough to satisfy drivers, while still getting an impressive 24/35 mpg. The optional turbocharged engine provides extra power for spirited drives, while closely matching the mpg rating of the standard engine.

It comes in three trim levels: GLS, SE, and Limited. Standard on all trim levels are keyless entry, air-conditioning, power accessories, Bluetooth, and a sound system with CD player among other amenities. However, as you go up in trim level or apply certain packages, you’ll see more options available to you. The SE, for example, gets upgraded with a sunroof, automatic climate control, and leather seating.

Hyundai Sonata: Safety Ratings

Safety features can also help you save. Standard with Sonatas is six front and side air bags, anti-lock brakes, brake assist, and traction control.

While the IIHS hasn’t had a chance to rate the 2012 Sonata yet, the 2011 Sonata was a top safety pick, breezing through crash tests with a score of “good” on front, rear, side, and roof tests. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has given it 5/5 stars overall. On individual tests, the Sonata received 5/5 stars on front, rollover, and side crash tests, while receiving 4/5 stars on front crash tests.
