What happens if you get into an accident while driving on the clock?
DoorDash has a commercial auto insurance policy that will cover up to $1 million in bodily injury or property damage to third parties when delivery drivers get into an accident while actively delivering.
This coverage to the third party will only qualify if you are in possession of the delivered goods, not after delivery.
If you are injured while making a delivery for MOD Pizza through DoorDash, you may be eligible for occupational coverage. You will need to contact DoorDash for more information.

What companies offer auto insurance to delivery drivers?
Many auto insurance companies will not cover your delivery job under your personal policy. This is especially true if you are a full-time delivery driver. However, sometimes, these services can be added to your personal policy. It all depends on the auto insurance company.
Esurance, for example, allows you to expand your policy if you are a part-time driver.
Allstate auto insurance also offers coverage to delivery drivers. Allstate food delivery insurance is limited in scope, similar to its competitors. Food delivery auto insurance rates can also be wrapped under a commercial policy.
Commercial auto insurance for delivery drivers is just another step of security in the case of an accident. It’s always best to start with your insurance agent.
