The Odyssey is a minivan in Honda’s lineup of cars. Starting at around $28,000, this minivan makes for a good family car, but how much will Honda Odyssey insurance cost you? Minivans, being primarily family vehicles, will cost you less on your car insurance than other cars mainly because there is a low likelihood that it will be used for racing and other risky forms of driving. However, read on if you’d like some tips and tricks on how to lower your insurance premium further.

Honda Odyssey Insurance: Costs

The average 2009-2010 Odyssey owner paid around $1,000 annually for car insurance. Insurance rates will vary from individual to individual, company to company, and even area to area. Most of the time, insurance rates will depend on factors such as: your age, driving history, and even your credit score sometimes. It all comes down to you and how risky you are to insure for your insurance company. If you’re under 25, inexperienced at driving, and live in an urban area with a high volume of traffic, your rates will be higher.

That said, there is a way that you can actively lower your car insurance. It’s as simple as doing your research and shopping around. Insurance companies will vary in their discounts and incentives. So, if you get quotes from different companies, you’re essentially ensuring that you’re going to get the best rates.

Honda Odyssey: Reviews

What’s not to love about the new Honda Odyssey? It’s been redesigned with improved fuel economy and a roomier interior with very comfortable seating. Its 3.5 liter V6 engine provides a very smooth ride, and serves as a surprisingly capable store of power for performance.

This minivan comes in trims: LX, EX, EX-L, Touring and the Touring Elite. The Odyssey comes standard with power driver seat, air conditioning, and a variety of power accessories. As you go up in trim levels, you get more bells and whistles.

For example, the EX adds alloy wheels, automatic climate control, power-sliding doors, and an upgraded audio system, while the EX-L showers you with further options. The EX-L comes with everything the EX does; however, it adds leather seating and a sunroof. Most impressive of all, the Touring and Touring Elite versions will net you a rear-seat entertainment system and a GPS device.

Honda Odyssey: Safety

Safety features can help reduce your monthly premium. The Odyssey comes standard with the following features:
• Stability Control
• Anti-lock Brakes
• Airbags: Front and Side (All three rows)

The 2012 Odyssey has also received excellent crash test scores from the federal government, receiving 5/5 stars on front and side crashes, and 4/5 stars on rollover crashes. The IIHS has also named the Odyssey a “top safety pick”.
