The Sentra is a reliable car competing in the small sedan arena. Starting at just over $16,000, it is an affordable car in Nissan’s repertoire. Unfortunately, an attractive sticker price isn’t everything. There are associated costs that go with being the owner of a car. What will your monthly gas bill amount to? What will Nissan Sentra insurance premiums look like? Read on, if you’d like to learn how to save on your auto insurance.
Nissan Sentra Insurance: Associated Costs
The Nissan Sentra is one of the more easy cars to insure; however, insurance rates will vary from person to person. The most important thing you can do for yourself is to shop around. Get quotes from different companies. Usually around 3 quotes should suffice, so that you can compare and contrast. Insurers won’t always have the same discounts or incentives that another might have, so when you do your research, you’re ensuring you’ll get the best rates.
Also, there’s a variety of factors that go into your insurance premium. Things such as: demographics, area, driving history, and even your credit score can be used as a measure of responsibility and risk. The lower risk you are to your insurer, the lower your premiums.

Nissan Sentra: Ratings & Reviews
Available in 6 trim levels, the Sentra leaves a lot of room for you to customize your experience, and get just the right level of features and options. The four basic trim levels, the base, S, SR, and SL, come equipped with a 2.0 liter 4 cylinder engine.
The two high performance trim levels get an upgraded engine. The SE-R gets a 2.0 4 cylinder engine, and the SE-R Spec V goes further than that and equips the car with a 2.5 liter 4 cylinder engine for extra power.
The base Sentra comes with amenities we’ve all come to view as standard in a car like: air-conditioning, power windows, and power locks. As you go up the trim tree to the S and SL, you can start seeing features such as:
• Keyless ignition
• iPod interface
• Keyless entry
The SE-R and SE-R Spec-V are more geared toward drivers who want a more spirited drive. As such, these trim levels tune the Sentra to be more performance based with performance tires, better brakes, and improved suspension.
Nissan Sentra: Safety Features
The Sentra has performed relatively average in NHTSA tests, though it didn’t do too badly. It’s received a 4/5 stars rating overall, received 3/5 stars on front and side crash tests, and 4/5 stars on rollover examinations. The IIHS on the other hand gave it the highest score of “good” on front crash tests, and “Acceptable” on rear, roof, and side impact crash tests.
